Over six weeks this course will develop your abilities at storytelling, from a self-initiated concept to your final project. We will look at technical elements, such as lighting, composition of not just a single image but the story as a whole and exposure, as well as non-photographic factors that build a successful narrative. This will include topics such as social interpretation/communication of your subject and photographer/subject relationships. An in-class presentation, with a brief introduction, will be given by each student on the final evening.
Required: You may use your own digital camera and other equipment or a smart phone, whatever you think you will need to successfully generate quality images and execute your ideas.
Please also bring: Thumb drive, Sketchbook/Journal
