Join us in person for the Sacred Fire Site opening ceremony, a gathering for the community. Fire Keeper: Ben Willsteed.
This opening marks an important milestone in the Region of Waterloo’s ongoing commitment to reconciliation, relationship-building, and creating spaces that honour Indigenous cultures, teachings, and traditions. The Sacred Fire Site will serve as a place for ceremony, reflection, learning, and community connection.
The ceremony will include opening remarks, Sacred Fire teachings, and time to gather in community. A light meal will be shared.
We are grateful to the Fire Keepers, Indigenous community members, and partners whose guidance and collaboration helped bring this vision to life.
