Matthew Raitt is an accomplished Canadian guitarist, songwriter, and content creator best known as the co-founder and lead guitarist of the Toronto-based alternative rock band GROWERS.
Raised in a musical environment, Matthew began playing in garage bands during his grade school years. In the fall of 2018, he teamed up with his brother, drummer Chris Raitt, to write demos for a project that eventually evolved into GROWERS in early 2019 with the addition of lead vocalist Charlie Joy and bassist Cameron Pinnington. Known for their high-energy, nostalgic indie-rock sound reminiscent of late 90s alternative bands, Matthew’s sharp hooks and driving guitar riffs have been central to the band’s signature style on standout tracks like “I Can’t Help It” and “TTYL.”
